What are one-way rentals?
A one-way rental or just one-way means picking up a car at one location and dropping it off at another.
Is there an extra charge for one-ways?
The logistical overhead for the car rental provider often attracts one-way fees - after all, the rental company has to take care of the return of the rental car and bear the wear costs. These should be compensated accordingly.
Different rental firms charge different one-way fees, making comparison well worthwhile.
Are one-way fees always charged?
There is no simple answer as to what a one-way rental costs. At some destinations the service is even free (see above). Depending on the country and route, the car rental firms charge different costs. Further information about the amount of the one-way fee can be found next to each rental car in the rental conditions.

Why are one-way rentals “on request”?
Because a one-way rental - especially in large countries such as Australia or the USA/ Canada – represents a particular challenge for the rental company, reservation requests with one-way rentals are always "on request" and cannot be confirmed immediately. It may take 1-3 days for the booking to be confirmed by the local partner. We therefore recommend booking in good time, so that in case of cancellation there is still enough time for planning an alternative route.
Is it possible to book an international one-way rental, i.e. a one-way that crosses borders?
With a few exceptions, TUI CARS does not offer international one-way rentals.
